Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ballistics Tracker ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use ballisticstracker.com and the Ballistics Tracker application (the "Service"). We built this Service to be a private record-keeping tool, and we treat your data accordingly: we do not sell your personal information, we do not run advertising, and we do not share your data with third parties for marketing.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password.

Firearm and shooting records you enter. The core of the Service is data you choose to enter, which may include firearm makes, models, and serial numbers; ammunition details and purchases; range session logs; malfunction records; maintenance history; and suppressor information. Serial numbers are encrypted before they are stored, so they are not readable in our database.

Community content. If you post reports or other content to community features, that content (along with your display name) is visible to other users of the Service.

Waitlist and promo information. If you join our waitlist or use a promo code, we store the email address or code you provide.

Technical information. Like nearly all websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log basic technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, and request timestamps for security and reliability purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking services.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share data only with the service providers that run our infrastructure, and only as needed to operate the Service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.

4. Security

All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Firearm serial numbers are additionally encrypted at the application level before storage. Access to your records is restricted to your account through database security rules. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data and will continue to improve them.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Regardless of where you live, we offer everyone the following:

We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

6. Do Not Track and Online Tracking

We do not track users across other websites or over time, and we do not allow third parties to collect personal information for their own purposes through the Service. Because we do not track you in the first place, the Service does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals — there is no tracking to turn off.

7. Data Retention

We keep your records for as long as your account is active so the Service can function. If you delete your account or request deletion, we delete your data, except for minimal records we may need to keep for security or legal compliance.

8. Age Requirement

The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete any such account we become aware of.

9. United States Only

The Service is currently offered to users in the United States, and your data is stored on servers located in the United States.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy — for example, when we add paid subscriptions or new features that involve additional data — we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
